MA DM (Oxon) FRCS FRCS (ORL-HNS)

Mr Fisher qualified from Oxford University in 1983 and after junior posts in medicine and surgery in Oxford and Reading he trained in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery (Otolaryngology) at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, London, also at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth, University of Western Australia. He has been a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Birmingham Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals since 1995.

His Doctorate in Medicine from Oxford University was on an acoustic technique used in the assessment of nasal obstruction (DM 1996).

He is an examiner in ENT for the Intercollegiate Specialty Boards (UK & Ireland), Senior Editor of the Journal of Laryngology and Otology and Vice-President of the Midland Institute of Otology. He is education lead for the department and is on the Otology Council for the Royal Society of Medicine. He is the organiser for the Anglo-French ENT Society and Treasurer for the Sankey clinicopathological Society.

His clinics are in general ENT, nose and sinus disease and paediatric ENT. He is married with four adult children and enjoys playing the French horn, reading history books and sailing.

Main sub-speciality interests are Rhinology, Otology/Audiology and Paediatric ENT and site of clinics are at Heartlands and Good Hope
